Support Groups

Gesher Disability Resources (formerly Council For Jews With Special Needs) has organized support groups since 1985. Whether you are a parent, sibling, grandparent or individual affected by a disability, we are here for you.

Gesher staff meets with parents, grandparents or siblings of individuals with disabilities to offer assistance in a variety of ways:

  • providing information and referral to resources within the Jewish and secular community
  • advising individuals and family members about accessing government benefits
  • hosting educational forums on disability related topics
  • offering social events to include the entire family

Groups are formed upon request if a sufficient number of participants are available to  create a viable group. The groups are led by professionals in the field of disabilities and/or counseling.
