A Very Special Simchat Shabbat
Ten years ago, the disability and Jewish communities came together to solve a problem. How do individuals with disabilities observe Shabbat? The answer was to create Simchat Shabbat, a joyous service where all are welcome to pray together in an ADA accessible setting with a “no shush” attitude. At the time, a special siddur (prayerbook) was created.
We are so excited to unveil a brand new siddur with more colors on the pages and more options for prayers. There is Hebrew, Hebrew transliteration and English so anyone can follow along. Following the 45-minute service, you are invited to stay for a special Kiddush lunch. We are proud to make this service and lunch available complimentary to all in the community.
We are also very thrilled to have Alan’s dad, Josh Feferman, reading Torah once again this month. If you too want to be part of the service, please let us know.
